Keeping up with all of the moving parts in your business can be a challenge, but with the right systems in place, you can get the job done. After checking out the post, check out my quiz at the end to figure out the perfect platform for you!
Top things to consider when selecting an organizational system:
Structure of System - Do you need something with multiple layers of detail and options? Or do you need to keep it simple for your sanity? If your tasks can get pretty complicated and multiple level, you might need a digital platform to keep up with it all. If you are more straightforward, keeping it old school is a go-to.
Accessibility - If you are always on the go, keeping things mobile is your best bet. It can be hard to keep up with a pen and paper if you find yourself scattered most days just trying to keep up with those client calls. Plus, there is nothing worse than getting to your office space or favorite coffee shop and realizing you forgot your notebook at home. Not so forgetful? You can stick with the paper.
Teamwork vs. Just You - If you are solo and don’t do too much work with others on a daily basis, you have options. Digital or paper could work for you. Keeping connected with consistent clients and daily team check-ins require a little bit more digital integration. The snail mail option isn’t going to work for a deadline that needs to be met in two days.
Allow for an adjustment period - Organization and routine doesn’t happen overnight. I recommend giving whatever method you try out at least 60 days of a trial period. This allows for some tweaks here and there and really testing out the system. Utilize online tutorials or blog posts with the #lifehacks you need to make it work for you.
